LEGO DC Super-Villains is the 4th game in the LEGO Batman series released for multiple platforms on October 16th, 2018. It provides a unique spin on the series by featuring villain characters as the main protagonists.

Gameplay

The gameplay in LEGO DC Super-Villains is very similar to the previous LEGO Batman titles, being third-person action-adventure gameplay featuring over 200 unique characters and having the player solve puzzles, collect studs, fight enemies and more. The game is also playable in 2 player co-op mode.

Every level in the game is based on a location from the DC Comics' Universe. Each level, once completed, becomes playable in 'Free Play' mode which allows the player to replay the level using any character they have unlocked at that point. This allows the player to access certain collectibles and areas not accessible through story mode. In addition to levels, there are several large 'hub' areas for the player to explore, including cities such as Gotham and Metropolis, and the planet Apokolips which also contain collectibles and things to do.

A unique feature in this game is having one of the main characters in the game being a custom character, Rookie, which the player can customize. This character can absorb energy from stations throughout levels in the game to gain powers and abilities to solve puzzles and progress through the levels.

Plot Synopsis

The Justice League has disappeared, leaving Earth’s protection to their counterparts from a parallel universe, the “Justice Syndicate”, a new, strange group of wannabe superheroes with unclear intentions. Whether it’s Graffiti Spraying walls in Metropolis or using Fear Toxins to scare characters in Gotham City, super-villains have full reign to use any trick in their arsenal to stop the Justice Syndicate’s evil scheme.
