Nightwing is one of Batman's allies. He is the alter-ego of Dick Grayson, the first Robin and appears in Lego Batman: The Video Game as well as it's sequel, yet having no effect on either storyline.

After his circus aerialist parents were murdered by some criminals, young Dick Grayson was adopted by Bruce Wayne. The young Grayson would become Bruce's ward and his partner in the war against crime as Batman's sidekick, Robin.

Dick Grayson became his own superhero, Nightwing, after an argument with Batman. He then left and quit being Robin. Dick Grayson would eventually talk to Superman who told him the story of a hero named Nightwing back on Superman's home planet. Grayson then became Nightwing, Protector of Bludhaven. Nightwing is now on good terms with Batman and shares a brotherly relationship with Tim Drake. He also develops a relationship with Batgirl/Oracle.

Powers and Abilities

In LEGO Batman: The Videogame, Nightwing is a bonus character. He can utilize all of Robin's suits,(not surprising, considering he's the original). He has access to his modified Batarangs, nicknamed 'Wing-Dings', which can be used to take out multiple targets or deflect bullets and become impervious to strikes while the weapon is drawn. He fights with a pair of blue Escrima batons. He has access to a jump attack with one of the batons, and holding the attack button for a time causing Nightwing to swing his baton around deflecting bullets and protecting him from harm. His martial arts training coupled with his acrobatic skills allow him to easily defeat enemies in hand-to-hand fighting. He has access to an acrobatic dive roll, and can perform backflips. His Shotokan Karate training allows him to utilize a Grab Move, which he can follow through with a strike or slam/throw. Being a member of the Bat-Family, he can use a grappling hook to ascend tall structures.

Physical Appearance

In both games, Nightwing is dons in black vest with a blue hawk on his chest. He wears a black domino mask, has dark, spiky hair and black trousers, tights, gloves, with blue sleeves. Sometimes he uses his Special Outfit, which is a silver jumpsuit with a baby blue hawk on the front. In the third game he uses his new 52 style outfit with the bird and lenses in red.
